The OMO5 is in a great position to access the canal, the main tourist shopping precinct, and the many restaurants and bars. It’s also well positioned close to bus stops to get to the ski areas. The dining area in the old part of the building is particularly beautiful. Then there was the food, which was equally well presented. Breakfast was a buffet, with mostly Japanese fare, which was nice to see. Breakfast was very impressive Our dinner was exquisite. It started with Japanese/Spanish fusion tapas, then pork with accompaniments, then paella, then a buffet of various dessert treats which were definitely worth finding the room for. Dinner also included nice wine, champagne and non-alcoholic beverages. Our twin room was quite nice and spacious. The shower was magnificent, and rather than being a bolt-on ugly pre-fab bathr

I stayed there mainly because the bus to the ski resort stopped right in front. So for the convenience, it was perfect. I loved that the toilet and the shower were separate. The bathroom was spacious. Restaurants, konbini and the Otaru Station was minutes away by foot (altho it might be slightly challenging to walk from the station with snow and luggage). Coin laundry on site was a sure plus.

I booked this hotel just to have a nice place to sleep after long day snowboarding in the nearby ski resorts. The hotel was great. Location is 10 minute walk from the main train station and bus station. This is exactly what I needed. There is a nearby family Mart, we can get a little bit crowded at night when everybody is hoarding the place to snack something at night.

I booked the triple room for 2A2C and the 3 single beds were adequate for us to sleep plus we had a comfortable sitting area with table to snack. The room had ample space to open up both our large luggage. Location wise, no complaints as we could walk to both Sakaimachi St and the canal.

Good general hotel, rooms not large but seems in line with Japanese standard sizes. Easy to walk to tourist end of town, good base if you wish to use it to ski surrounding mountains at an affordable price. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance.
